About / how this works

Useful answers, without the spreadsheet.

Simple Calculators is a collection of 210 free tools for money, health, business, property, everyday math, and practical decisions.

What we do

Choose a tool, enter a few assumptions, and get a useful estimate instantly in your browser — with no account, download, or paywall required.

Built to be clear

Formulas, assumptions, and limitations are explained alongside the result so you can decide whether a number is useful for your situation.

01 / our approach

Simple tools, honest context.

Simple Calculators is built and maintained by the Simple Calculators Team, a small, independent group focused on making everyday calculations clear and trustworthy.

  • Verified data. Where calculators depend on published rates, thresholds, or tables, we identify the assumptions and update the underlying data when it changes.
  • Tested formulas. Calculations are checked against hand-computed examples and published examples where they exist.
  • Honest limitations. Estimates are labeled as estimates. Health, tax, legal, and financial tools are informational and should not replace qualified advice.
  • Privacy-first inputs. Calculator values are processed in the browser and are not sent to our servers by the calculator interface.

03 / methodology & source policy

How we review calculator content.

We document the formula, assumptions, units, and limitations used by each calculator. When a tool depends on a published rate, threshold, or reference table, we prefer the primary source and identify the relevant date or scope in the page content.

Depending on the calculator, primary references may include the IRS, CDC, ACOG, USDA Food Safety, EPA, European Central Bank, and the Federal Reserve. These links are starting points, not substitutes for checking the current rule or guidance.

Editorial policy. Every calculator is written, tested, and reviewed by the Simple Calculators Team. Before a calculator goes live, its formulas are checked against hand-worked examples and automated tests. When a source publishes new figures — a tax year, a rate table, or clinical guidance — we update the data and review the page again. We don't accept payment to change results or recommendations, and advertising never influences what a calculator shows.

Results are estimates for education and planning. Health, tax, legal, and financial calculators should not replace advice from a qualified professional. We welcome corrections through the contact page.

04 / before you rely on a result

Use the number as a starting point.

Financial results are estimates based on your assumptions. Health tools are informational screens, not diagnoses. Tax figures are planning estimates, not filings.

For decisions with real stakes, verify the result with a qualified professional. Read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more detail.
